The Walton Casuals Academy received a visit from the Mayor of Elmbridge yesterday to take a look around the facilities and see first hand all the hard work that goes into the Academy.
Mary Sheldon took time out to speak to the Academy's Kelly-Jade Whelan and Kevin Foster, as well as Chairman Tony Gale and Vice-Chairman Paul Saunders and get a rundown of how far the project has come within the first year, and what the Academy can offer. Then she heard of the plan for this coming year and the overall vision for the future, before speaking to the students and watching on in class and seeing them train out on the pitch.
The Mayor went away very impressed and gave her full support to the Academy, recognising the hard work that's gone in and the massive progression since its inception.
To see what the Academy are like out on the pitch, they play Corinthian Casuals at home this afternoon in the U19 Alliance League, 2pm kick off at the Hub.
